Happy Birthday Mel!

It is my darling Melanie's birthday today! :) She turned 14 (ridiculous). :) That means we have had her for almost 2/3 of her life. Wootwoot.
She is a fabulous girl. Always willing to help out in ANYTHING you need (seriously, this girl has no limits). She always seems to know where everything in the house is. She is learning the violin and has a solo in her next concert. She's lovely. And she is sooo tan. Makes me feel like a snowman. :)

My life:
Tuesday: I can't remember Tuesday. I went to Sarah's. oh! I think I watched Chuck. I can't remember much past that. This is pathetic, it has only be seven days... OH! Becky and I hung out. We had to go on a bus ride for our class. So we rode to my house and made pasta and microcake. Mmmm. Then we rode back and then I went to Sarah's and hung out for a bit. :)
Wednesday: Wednesday was so fun! I rented a car so Sarah and I could go to Wal*Mart and get supplies for our costumes (which we wore to the premiere of Harry Potter.. I'll talk about that later :) :) :) :) be excited.). I'm a member of a car share program, basically I pay $50 a year to be able to rent a car whenever I need to for about $8/hour. They pay for insurance and gas with the car so it is potentially a great deal. The car I rented was a... SMART CAR!!!!! Hahaha, we named him Alstein (Albert+Einstein-bertein=Alstein!). He was ... different. Not what I was expecting. Very rough. But it was fun. I enjoyed it. We made a lot of jokes about it. And took a lot of pictures. Like, a lot of pictures.
Huggin him. He was so tiny.

We got Sonic! Mmm :)

In Alstein. :) We're so cute.

Before this Alstein adventure, I had lunch with a group of friends. On Wednesdays at UA the restaurants on campus offer $3 lunch. I've gone with this group 3 or 4 times in a row to the Cellar (their lunch is a grilled chicken burger, a side, and a drink. Fabulous deal, no?). Its sooo much fun.
Bethany, Chanda, Derrick, and Lyndsay

I also met again with my mentor that I was assigned as part of the AZ Assurance program. She is such a wonderful lady. Great example of a women being strong and independent. She's fantastic.
Back to the order of the story... Sarah and I went to Wal*Mart and Sonic and then I rode Stella home (in the dark, it was a little scary).
On Thursday, I went to class as usual. During one of my classes I took Harry Potter quizzes (I'm a terrible student when I am anxious for things). Then I went to Sarah's and we made vegan pumpkin cookies (delish) and our costumes.
Cookies! They were super good. Pumpkin is just amazing. Add it to anything and it'll make it better.

As we were making our costumes Sarah's roommate's boyfriend, Adam, offered us two tickets to the UA basketball game. Heck yeah. It was super short notice, but we went and OH MY GOODNESS I love basketball. I want to go to a Suns game sooooo badly now. The game was great. The seats were awesome. UA won (of course).  :)
Final score: UA 83 New Mexico State 57.
Sarah and I wore blue/red flannel pj pants and red shirts to the game. We were darling together. :)
After the game I had a party that I was required to attend. Luckily, it was on campus. Sarah and I rushed over (I changed on the way) and checked in with my class. Right after that we went to Ariell's dorm and met up with Bert to pick up Ariell's car (because she is a saint). A pitstop later and we were at the theater! It was INCREDIBLE. Seriously. Oh my goodness. Our seats were great, and Sarah and I were both so hyper that we were basically bouncing off the walls. We met tons of other people (anyone that dresses up to go to a Harry Potter premiere is friend-worthy). There were the basic Hogwart's uniforms and scary witches and such. Then there were the few house elves that rocked it. Sarah and I being two of them. We looked fabulous.

Chanda, Dobby random boy, and Sarah

We were so excited...

People that asked to take pictures in the hallway.

He makes us look like real house elf size. This is: KYRYL NATYAZHKO! #1 on the UA Men's Basketball team. He was there. Oh yes. :)

The three of us . Bert Chanda and Sarah. We're so cute. Even though Bert didn't dress up.

Wooh!

Oh yeah, did I mention? WE WERE ON THE NEWS!!!!! :) This cameraman asked if we would like to be interviewed. So he interviewed us and we were on Tucson Channel 9 ABC news! :) Link: In the NEWS! FOR HARRY POTTER!
The movie was GREAT! The company was even better. And the night was by far one of the most epic nights of my life. Honestly, UA Basketball, meeting a player, HARRY FREAKING POTTER, hanging out with Sarah and Bert, riding in a Mustang, pumpkin cookies... And then a sleepover at Sarah's :) It was perfect.
Friday we slept in SUPER late and then did absolutely nothing. We walked to my house to get my bike and go shopping, but then Abbey came (yay!) and so she drove us. Then Abbey and I just hung out at my house I think. It was great getting to see her.
Yay! Abbey and Chanda!

Saturday, Abbey and I slept in and hung out around my apartment. Then I went on a bike ride with Amy, Ariell, Ariell's friend (Chris maybe?), Derrick, and Kirstin. It was really fun. I saw parts of Tucson that I never knew existed. Hopefully pictures will get put on Facebook soon so I can steal them :) Later on Bert and Steve (I think) joined us and we ate pizza and went to the mall. Then Bert, Amy, Kirstin, Ariell, and I went to Applebees! Delicious.
On Sunday I didn't go to church, because I am a bad person. Actually it was because Abbey and I hung out until 2:00 and I didn't want to walk to church. So instead Reid came over to do homework. Homework didn't actually get done however. Instead we listened to music and talked. It was really fun! His itunes library is hilariously diverse. I also made bread- which turned out great! On Sunday night I went to Sarah's and ate dinner with the missionaries (I made rolls to eat with pot roast for the missionaries, how stereotypical.). It was really fun. Noah (one of Bert's roommates) let me use his tuner and showed me some chords and such on my uke. OH!!!!!!!!!!! I GOT MY UKULELE!!!!!!!!!! :) :) :) :) :) my fingertips are raw. I love it. It is sooooo wonderful. His name is Oliver. He's wonderful. I'm learning Present Face by Garfunkel and Oates on it now. And Reid taught me some of the Star Wars song. And I tried learning Silent Night but that didn't turn out so well. I'll try again though. When I'm better. After eating with the missionaries I went over to Bert's and hung out with him for awhile. It was quite enjoyable. He's such a busy soul. Then I went to Amy's and picked up Stella and rode home.
On Monday I didn't do anything special. I rode the bus to and from school and just did homework and research all day.
Today I only had one class, English. It was a good class and then I hung out at Institute with Derrick. I wanted to make plans for tonight, but everyone I talked to was busy/lame/out of town. Its been nice playing Oliver though. I've almost perfected the into to Present Face (pathetic.).
I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE REST OF THIS WEEK!!!!!!!!!!
I'm getting my haircut (it needs it. badly.). And I get to see LunaBug. And my mom. And Aaron. And Taryn. And Melanie. And my cousins. And my other cousins. And my aunts. And my uncles. And Tyler. And Bryce Addison. And Kara Lareemae. And Angela. And I am so flippin excited. I love Thanksgiving. It means a lot more now that I am in college too. :) :) :) :) :)
Anyway, I'm going to continue practicing Oliver. Hopefully Taryn will learn the guitar part to Present Face and we'll be a tender little duet. :)
Chanda :)

Things I love

I decided I need to be positive in my life.
So here are some of the things I absolutely adore.
1. Chatting with Wade. He always makes me feel better. Even if it is just because he knows that sometimes I need to vent and then not hear anything more about my problems. He just always knows what to say. And how to make me laugh. And I know that he loves me. That is a good feeling. I think about calling him more than anyone else.
2. Aaron. He is such a sweetheart. When I was planning on moving this summer he started training Luna to bark at people. He told me it was so she could protect me when he wasn't there. Then the other day, I found a sound on my phone that he had sent it to me awhile back when I was missing Luna. It was her barking and him telling her to say hi to me. He is so considerate. At the very end he said that he was praying for me. I'm lucky to have such amazing brothers.
3. Melanie. She's so funny. I love that she can have absolutely nothing to say but still manages to find a way to keep a conversation going. She's beautiful. And she gets to play a solo in her concert- so excited for her! She's going to do great things. I love talking to her and I am so glad she is there to take care of Luna and play with Lucy (and I'm sure Myrna and my mom appreciate it too.) :)
4. Taryn. She is hilarious. She and I get into these little fights (which I always win.. hahah.) and they crack me up. She has managed to stay up to date with my life super well and I'm glad that I can just start talking to her about things without having to go into detail. She's made a big effort to keep in contact and I really appreciate it.
5. My dad. He's so nice. When I was freaking out about life I called him and he just reassured me and told me to hang on until he could come. He did so much for me. (Including buying me a new toothbrush, tradition continues.). He's so wonderful and I'm lucky to have him in my life. I felt so taken care of when he was here this past weekend, I've missed that feeling a lot.
6. My mom. I can call my mom anytime of the day (or middle of the night, poor woman has had that happen too many times) and she will talk to me. She has so much life experience and is great at giving advice. She's taught me everything I know about cooking and keeping house and I didn't realize how lucky I was to have had that influence. She is such a hard worker and motivates me (if she can work full time and go to school and be a mom and make cakes on the side and hold a calling and be an awesome aunt to LucyBean and Ezra and still be willing to take my dog when I need her to and not ever get enough sleep, then I can handle anything.).
7. Sarah Joee. Oh my goodness. This girl is perfect for me. She's so wonderful and I'm soooo lucky to have become friends with her this year. She completes me. When I get really frustrated she finds the humor in the situation and reminds me of where it is. She has probably seen me at my worst more times than most of my friends from high school and she still likes me! Its amazing. Seriously, Sarah is so great. I'm so blessed to have met her. She makes me laugh, she lets me cry, she always has an open door (and I mean always), she tells the funniest stories, she gives good advice, she's so strong. I just adore her.
8. Gabe, Kendi, Kathleen, Kaitlyn (sp?). Sarah's roommates. Wonderful people. They make me laugh so much. I love them all. They've been so hospitable when I come over. They let me intrude on their roommate nights. They let me make messes of their kitchen. They let me keep stuff in their fridge. They are wonderful.
9. Bethany. She's soooo funny. Rarely have I met someone as genuine as Bethany is. She always tells the truth and I love that about her. She makes me laugh so much. She has been a saving grace this past month. I love the sleepovers we've had and she's so willing to drive me places. I love that she is in my ward. She is such a doll. She let me have my birthday party at her house, actually she and Victoria planned my birthday party which was fantastic of them. I laugh so hard when I hang out with her and I know that anything she says will be what she really thinks.
10. Heidi, Cami. Bethany's roommates. Thank you for letting me invade your house for sleepovers.
11. Victoria. Thank you for planning my birthday party. And making me laugh. And making me feel included. I hope we get to be better friends. You are great.
12. Lyndsay. I love Lyndsay. She is nothing like what I was expecting her to be. She is so funny and intelligent and sweet. She's willing to go out of her way to help other people. She is fun to talk to and hang out with. She cares about other people and it shows. And I love her car, just sayin'. When she and I went to return my rental car I got us super lost and she didn't even make fun of me for it or anything. She is just a beautiful person.
13. Amy. Amy is fabulous. She's hilarious and totally one of a kind. She made me feel so welcome when I didn't know anyone else. She is one of those people that will do anything for you.
14. Becky. Becky brightens my day everytime I see her. She always seems so concerned about me. She is so much fun to hang out with and I'm SOOOO glad she talked to me the first day of school. She was the first person to talk to me at UA and I couldn't be happier with that. I really hope she and I get to take a class together next semester, but even if we don't I hope we hang out. We stayed up until like 3 in the morning one night and we totally just clicked. She's fantastic and I really hope that we get more opportunities to hang out.
15. Reid. Reid is fantastic. We only have one class together unfortunately, but we'll have another next semester! Reid invited me to hang out with him and his friends the first day of school. I am so glad. I was having anxiety attacks the entire week before school because I didn't think I could make friends. But Reid was so nice and funny and he's just fabulous. He came to my birthday party on Thursday even though he didn't know anyone else there (that takes guts.). He's been complaining that I haven't talked about him on my blog yet, but now I have. He is so funny- if he wasn't in my TRAD lecture I probably wouldn't go. But he and I have a lot of fun in that class. So its good.
16. Bryce Addison. Bryce is one of the few people from high school that I've kept in contact with (of course, Bryanda won't die that easily). I absolutely adore this boy. We are the best of friends and even though we are in different states I consider him one of the best friends i could ever ask for. I can call him and talk to him for hours about absolutely nothing and I always hang up in a better mood than before I called.
17. Norbert. He is so funny. Seriously, its a weird funny. But its hilarious. I never know what to expect from him but it never is disappointing. I feel like a sap writing too much about him, suffice it to say: he's sweet and funny and rather attractive and I like him. A lot.
18. Derrick. Derrick is awesome. I've never known a cooler asian guy ;) haha. Derrick is like my UA brother. He is so thoughtful and always wants to help people out. He's super inclusive and funny and a fantastic cook. He and I have had some talks about life as it is and I love hearing his opinions and thoughts.
19. Prestwich family. Ok, I should probably go through and name each of them individually-- but I don't have all night so I'm grouping them together. I was having a really awful day, then I got pictures of the boys at their XC meet with little quotes from all of them and my attitude totally changed. I don't feel like there are many boys that I will truly miss when they are on their missions, but I will miss the Prestwich boys. I can't imagine my life without them. My birthday card from them is up on my fridge because everytime I look at it I smile. My aunt and uncle are also the most giving people I've ever met. I want to have a relationship like theirs someday. I admire them so much.
20. KeeganJ. He's a wonderful support and a fantastic friend. He sent me a birthday gift- superman stuff. He knows me so well. Keegan is just so thoughtful and willing to give up anything for the people he cares about.
21. Tyler. Tyler is my helicopter friend. He saved me. More than I can ever express I am grateful to Tyler. He is a true friend and I miss him, a lot.
22. The Mehr family. They let me do laundry at their house. And feed me. And take me to get ice cream. Enough said. ;) they are such great examples of true Christians. They are so loving and accepting and I can talk to them about anything and trust that they will give me the best advice they can. I am so glad they are in Tucson this year, I don't know what I would do without them.
23. Jason. Jason just knows when to text me to make my life better. He is so funny and a great friend. He came and saw Lucia and I at the beginning of the semester and we had so much fun. I love that he is goingto school so close and one of these days I will go see him.
24. Kara Lareemae. She is getting married. It is soooo weird. But I'm so happy for her. She's a great friend and she helped me get through high school. I love her and we have fantastic memories. We went for a long time without talking but when I saw her again it was like no time had passed at all.
25. Nicki and Lauren. They are so sweet. Nicki invites me to do things a lot, I feel bad that I so often don't do them. They are so caring and so strong in following Christ. I love their testimonies about the Bible and hanging out with them is so uplifting. I never have to worry when I am around them. They are so sweet and great friends.

So this ended up being more about people I am thankful for in my life. This list could continue for ages but I figure 25 is enough. I have been so blessed to meet these wonderful people. I am so glad God put them in my life. If everything I have gone through was just to show me that I have good friends then it was all worth it, because I realize that I really do have the best friends I could ever want.

<3
Cheesy, but sincere, Chanda :)

Birthday!!!!! :)

Oh my.
So much has happened.
I'll try to go sequentially (as per usual), but I won't have many pictures because I don't have a camera, so I have to rely on other people taking pictures/ the camera on my phone and it just doesn't always pan out. Hopefully I'll get more pictures and just edit this post later (cough, Derrick, cough.).

Monday nothing very significant happened. As I was walking into a building on campus someone in a car drove by and yelled my name and waved very enthusiastically at me. That made me feel good. I wish I knew who it was. But thanks to whoever you were. :) I hung out at Sarah's house Monday night until FHE. For FHE we watched The Little Rascals. Oh that movie, so special...
Tuesday was just more hanging out with Sarah at her place. Bert came over for awhile too. They are my favorites. I like them.
On Wednesday Amy hosted Asian night. Haha, Derrick made sweet and sour- it was SOOOOO good. We also watched How to Train Your Dragon. I had so much fun. Unfortunately I didn't get a whole group photo (there were a lot of us. Lyndsay, Sarah, Derrick, Bert, Kirstin, Amy, Jenkin, Shelly, and Brian). But I did get some pretty good ones of the people who stayed past midnight (ridiculous, I know.).
In honor of Asian night, Bert being Chinese. He's so funny.

He and I matched. Again. Accidentally. Funny conversation:
Bert: Chanda, I want you to know, if we ever get attacked by dragons, you shouldn't worry. We'll probably both die.
Chanda: Unbelievable Bert.
Bert: The breathe freaking fire Chanda.

The boys. Derrick, Bert, and Jenkin. I love this picture.

And some of the group! I love this pic too.
Derrick, Sarah, Bert, Amy, and Jenkin.

It was so fun. And the food was seriously delicious. Kudos to Derrick.

Thursday: Derrick, Bert, and I went to Five Guys for my first time. So delicious. I liked it. A lot.
Derrick, Chanda, and Bert.

Afterwards I went over to Sarah's and she and I went to Walmart to get me.... A BIKE! I love my bike. Her name is Stella. :) I had to return my rental car (sad day) and I gave up Jane (another sad day), so I bought a bike to get around on. Its been fun so far, although my thighs would protest.
STELLA!

I named her Stella so if she ever gets stolen I can have a ridiculously dramatic reaction and be seen as simply quoting A Streetcar Named Desire.
Once Sarah and I picked out my bike we went to my apartment where my mom, Wyndie, and Tammy were waiting with Luna!! I missed them. I was so happy I got to see my little doggy. My mom cut her hair- she looks soooo cute! We went to Cheesecake Factory for dinner/lunch. It was soooo good (isn't it always?). Of course my family decided to tell our waitress that it was my birthday.. So they sang to me. And decorated my plate (cool huh?):
Best cheesecake of my life. Probably.

I have this stupid reaction of making an idiotic face when someone takes a picture of me...

It was super tasty and I loved getting to see my mom and aunts and uncle and Sarah and eat delicious food and drink lemonade with sugar all around the top. Good times. Wyndie drove Stella to Sarah's for me and, after goodbyes to Wyndie, Luna, and my mom, I spent the rest of the day with Sarah. At around 6:30 I picked up Bert and we went to Amy's to pick up Jenkin and go to my party that Bethany hosted. It was really fun, I feel like it was actually a super lame party but I enjoyed myself so that is good.
Reid brought pie. Bethany and Lyndsay made my cake. Bert brought 'perfect' brownies.
I love my friends. Have I mentioned that?

Victoria, Bert, Bethany, and Reid.

Reid, Derrick, Lyndsay, Bethany, and Jenkin!

For the party we ate a lot. And went to a park by Bethany's house and played sardines and hide and go seek. Then we played Psychiatrist. It was fun. Katie showed up a little later, but I didn't get any pictures of her..
On Friday Lyndsay and I returned my rental car (sad, sad moment in my life) and got Jane's license plate. It was so funny, we got super lost. But it all worked out! We also went to Toys R Us (that is where Lyndsay works) and messed around for awhile there. Then we went to dollar lunch which was fabulous but really under-attended. I then went to Sarah's house (I feel like I spend a lot of time there... haha.) and we went on a BIKE RIDE!!! I was so excited!! I love riding my bike. :) :) :)
This is how excited I was.. ;)

We rode to Target and back. It was long. Haha, and riding on the road with cars and laws is so scary! I was freaked out. I bought a light for my bike and gloves (it is getting super chilly here). After our little trip I went on a high speed hayride with U5 ward (mainly Victoria, Bethany, and Lyndsay). Lyndsay and Bethany made me a blanket for my birthday! Its WONDERFUL! My three favorite colors and super soft and warm. I love it. They're wonderful. I have the best friends ever. The hayride was crazy. When I think hay ride I think of little caroling 5mph rides through neighborhoods. Not this one. We went like 10 miles out of town onto a mountain into the desert. Fast. It was really fun. Freezing, for sure, but really fun. Bethany then drove me home and stayed until midnight so we could celebrate my birthday (isn't she so tender?). At midnight we had little cherry tart things:
It was so precious.

Then she went home and I went to sleep.
I slept in on Saturday which was fantastic. Then I got up and made lunch for my family. They came into town for my birthday. I hadn't seen them in AGES. It was great. We went to campus and I gave them the tour of my life. They met Bert. So awkward. (He was at work. At the UA Bookstore. My dad bought a pack of gum so he could say hi...) They met Sarah, Gabe, Kendi, Kathleen, Bethany.. I love that when I talk about my friends my family now knows who I am talking about. And vice versa.
My dad took us to dinner at Five Guys. Again. I know, twice in one week- ridiculous. But it was SOOOO good. They announced my birthday over the intercom thingy. That was, once again, embarrassing. Then we went to Salt at the dollar theater. I fell asleep on Taryn's shoulder. Haha, but its a great movie. Very action packed and not necessarily predictable. Then Taryn and I dropped off Aaron, Mel, and my Dad and ate microcake and then went to 23 at the pink apartments and made masks. I also ordered my ukulele!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait :) :) :) :) :)
Microcake. Horrible picture. But thats ok!

A mask that Nathan made. Isn't Sarah a lovely model?
On Sunday I went to Stake Conference with my family (it is so funny how different it is from family wards. Stake conference was like, empty here.. Haha). My family got to meet Derrick, Victoria, Lyndsay, Amy, other various people... It was great. Then they left and I went and did laundry and homework at Tammy's. I love spending time there. Her kids are so cute. When I walked in all of them shouted my name and the littlest came and gave me a hug. It was so so tender. And I really appreciate that they let me do laundry at their place, it saves me quite a bit. Tammy made homemade granola and yogurt and let me have some. It was delish. Kudos to her. That night Bethany came over and we ate dinner together (so tasty, chicken tacos...). Then we hung out for a little bit and when she left she dropped me off at Bert's. Oh! He got me a Ukulele book! I'm so excited. I'm going to learn how to play and it is going to be wonderful. I can't wait. He and I talked for a bit, he changed some stuff on my computer (I like it better now). He played guitar. Made me feel better about my life. It was good. I kind of have a crush on him.
Then I went over to Sarah's and she and I wrote to Samuel (Bert's best friend, Sarah's ... friend on a mission). Bert's roommate, Chris, was kind enough to drive me home and then I chatted with Wade for a bit. (Geez I miss him a lot.) and then I went to sleep.
Today nothing of significance happened. Classes were good. I put another ad on craigslist for my apartment.
I need to find a solution for it. Oh, I haven't explained. Lucia is moving out. I don't have anyone to move in. Please pray. Hard. And a lot. I need it. A lot. :)
I'm also just on the lookout for a car to buy. Preferably one that isn't a 94 Honda Accord. Haha.

Well, thats my life in a nutshell. I've had a fabulous week overall.
I can't wait to get my uke on Thursday. Also on Thursday night:
HARRY POTTER COMES OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't even flippin wait. Oh my heck. L:JRALKSJF:LKSDJFLKSJDFLKjLK.
I'm just so excited. It is hard to express my excitement. :) :) :) : :) :):): )
I don't know how Bert, Sarah, and I are going to get back from the midnight show. But we are going. And we are dressing up. And I can't wait.

:)
Two morons were sitting on a fence. One fell off, why didnt the other?
Chanda
ps. because he was a little moron. (more-on.) hahahaha. Joke provided by Brother Dalton. He's hilarious.

Sleepovers and Campouts

I've had a fantastic week.
Things are really looking up in my life.
Finally. ;)

I got $3 lunch on Wednesday with Derrick, Lyndsay, and Bethany. It was super tasty. Then we went and wandered around the bookstore.
Derrick looking like Wilbur and Bethany with a Wildcat hat! :)
Wednesday night I went to Sarah's and hung out with her, I think. I can't really remember Wednesday right now. But I would guess that I hung out with Sarah :) And I'm sure if I did I had a lot of fun. And we probably had really funny quotes. Oh, I think Bert came over too.

Thursday morning I went over to Sarah's and we started making bread, she's such a doll. When I came back to her house from class (like 4 hours later) it was just ready to come out of the oven. It was DELICIOUS. Like freaking manna. I love homemade bread. MmMmMm. After eating some bread I went to my aunt and uncle's house. I love their children, they bring joy to my heart. We made granola:

Super tasty delicious wonderfulness

I also did laundry and we ate pizza :) also, Trevor quoted the 1st Article of Faith which was adorable.

Thursday night I stayed at Bethany's and then we got up early and went to Ahwatukee (also called Wannatoobee by Bethany) to drop off her harp at this studio. Oh. My. Goodness. She is so talented. And the harp is such a beautiful instrument. And we had tons of fun. Her brother bought us lunch at Rumbi's, which is a very tasty place to eat. We drove back to Tucson after that and went grocery shopping and then ate dinner and went camping! U3 ward went up to Mount Lemon (sp?) and Bethany and I tagged along with Lyndsay and Sarah. It was really fun. I didn't realize how much I missed the pine trees until we got up there. I was ecstatic. It makes me realize how lucky I was to grow up in Lakeside- it is just so so beautiful.
The car ride back up... Camping just brings out the beauty in us. HAHAHA.

Sarah and I :) I was so cold. She and I cuddled. Haha :)

On the drive up to the mountain I found out that I might, hopefully, most likely get to see my best friend in the whole entire world over Thanksgiving break. I cannot wait. I miss this boy sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much. I haven't seen him since June and it is just ridiculous. He's wonderful. And I miss him. And I really hope to see him.

On Saturday morning I drove back to Tucson to go to the Alzheimer's Awareness walk. I felt like I really didn't do anything to help. But I walked in it. And I guess that counts..? After the walk I took a three hour nap and then woke up and did A LOT of homework. I felt accomplished. Bethany and I then went to the dance and it was super lame. But we made it fun. They had Eegees at the dance!  We danced in a group with a bunch of really fun people (Sarah and this boy named Michael included). We left kind of early and went to Michael's house to play Guitar Hero. That group was really fun. Bert is pretty fantastic at Guitar Hero. I am pretty awful.

Me and Bethany with our Eegees. And we matched. Haha.

Today I went to Sarah's house at 9:30 because Bethany had to practice harp and do homework. She and I made some delicious yams for her ward (U3)'s break the fast.
Sarah with our yams :)
I was planning on going to my ward, but then it was just more convenient to go to hers. On the way to church the yams spilled all over Sarah's skirt which was rather unfortunate. But it was ok. I had to leave Sunday School early to go work on a group paper (bleh, I hate group work). I finished at 4 and went to U3's break the fast. It was SOOOO delish. Mmmmmm. Then I went to Bethany's and hung out for awhile, then went back and watched the fireside which was uplifting and a good decision (even though I usually hate firesides). Then I came back to Bethany's house and we made banana bread:
Such a gross activity... Ewww..

IT WAS SOOOOOO GOOD! Super tasty.

Now I am dreading doing homework :) I got a lot done this weekend which I feel good about. But I still have so much more to do. College is overrated. I want to just drop out. :)

This week I get to see my family. This is also the last Sunday that I will ever be 18. Ever. Exciting.

Overdue Update

Hello all :)
Life is splendid.
My life is on a rollercoaster right now, but it is getting better.
Sarah and I have been hanging out a lot :) it is so wonderful. That girl makes my heart smile.
I've also been spending a lot of time with Bethany-- she is going to move in with me mid-December! I can't wait. She plays the harp and has a beautiful voice and is sooo funny. I love her laugh. I stayed at her house last night- it was so fun! She taught me how to make microcake. Which is an amazing and delicious invention that is going to lead to my freshman-200. :) It is cake that only takes like 2 minutes to cook. And only requires water and cake mix. Its so tasty.
Microcakes at Bethany's house :) mmm

For Halloween I was a unicorn. Hahahaha. It was slightly ridiculous. But SUPER fun. The group that dressed up were: Bethany, Lyndsay, and me. Sarah helped us get ready but wasn't feeling very good so she didn't dress up. Here are pictures of our 'unicorns':
Getting ready in my bathroom.

Finished unicorns.. Nice horns eh? HAHAHAHA.

The Institute dance was fun. Before the dance my wonderful bishop interviewed me for a temple recommend (since mine expired in September). Sarah went with me. Here we are waiting for our ride, being Asian:
We are SOOOO cute eh?
I love her. Bethany and I were taking pictures on her Macbook Sunday night, they are disgusting. Haha, I love them though. We were warping our faces and just messing with the settings. It was great. (such a typical college thing to do right?)

After the dance at Institute Bethany, Lyndsay and I went to my apartment and made butterfingers. Kind of. We thought of some things that could have improved them, but they were super tasty! (Melted candy corn and peanut butter with chocolate on top). Mmmm. We also watched Charlie Brown The Great Pumpkin. It was cute. They went home and then Amy needed a ride so I went to her, by the time I went to sleep that night it was 4:00 am. Ridiculous!
The next day I woke up at 8:00 and drove Bethany and myself to Mesa for Kara Lareemae's bridal shower. SOOOOO weird that she is a bride! She's happy and it was wonderful seeing her :) after her shower Bethany and I went to the temple. Unfortunately we missed being able to go in but we did wander around the visitor's center and the grounds. It was beautiful. Then we ate lunch with our ward (Cafe Rio=delish). Then she went back to Tucson with them and I went and stayed with my mom in Avondale :)
I was so glad that I got to see Aaron and Melanie and my mom again. It was ages. (Mel had a haircut and I asked when she got it done, she said like a month ago.. That is so long for not seeing her!). I love my family. They are so tender. I left Luna with them (I miss my dog.. A lot). My mom gave her a haircut. Isn't it so cute?
Sunday morning/afternoon I drove back to Tucson. Bert was in Phoenix for one of his friend's farewell talks so I drove him back too. Nothing bad happened on the way, which is excellent.
Thus far this week I've just been doing lots of homework and eating lots of microcake ;)
Yesterday Bert, Sarah, and I got our HARRY POTTER TICKETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so flippin excited about this. I cannot wait! :) :) :) :) :) Wootwootwoot. :)
I also got a parking ticket... Stupid. There are apparently rules associated with parallel parking, I never would have learned that in Lakeside. Boo. Its ok though, now I know. (And I have even more reason to avoid parallel parking.)
My car situation is confusing.. I got the estimate back and it was almost $2700. But I haven't heard from the mechanic. So I am still in my rental. Which is great. It will be hard going back to Jane after this little Mazda.
I feel like a lot happened that I can't remember.. I know I have had a lot of fun. I just can't remember specifics.
Ohh! Taryn learned my new favorite song (coincidentally Sarah and my song) Count on Me by Bruno Mars. She sang/played guitar to me on Skype. It was so tender. I haven't seen her in ages. But I will see her next weekend!!! :) Oh! And my dad is getting me a ukulele!!! I can't flippin wait. I'm going to be the next Kate Micucci. Haha.
Now I am sitting in the Institute building waiting for class to start (in an hour and a half hahahah). I just love life.
My friends are the best. Seriously.
I get so stressed out sometimes. And then they are there. And I laugh until I cry. And then I feel better, because I'm happy and I've cried. Haha :)
I love that I didn't even go home yesterday. I was just with my friends ALL day. And it was fabulous.
Also, Bert and I are dating. <3 how tender, I know.
He is hilarious.
I'm just so lucky. I've made amazing friends, my classes are fascinating, my family is fantastic, and I've used four f words in this sentence- none of which should offend anyone. :)
This weekend I'm going camping with U3 ward, I'm pretty excited. Then I have a walk for Alzheimers on Saturday. There is a dance at the Institute Saturday night (which I may or may not attend) and the All Soul's Procession is this weekend but I don't know if I'll have time to go to that. I can't wait. :) Also on Thursday I am making granola with Tammy (I LOVE granola. So so much.) Life is great, just so you know.

TTFN- Ta ta for now!
