Day 2

DAY TWO!!!!!!

Nine things about myself.

1. People make my day when they text/call me. The happiest nights I go to sleep are the ones that follow days I spent talking with old friends and making new ones, whatever the media.

2. Despite popular belief, I want to get married someday. Just not before I have figured myself out and know what I want. I don't ever want to look at my husband and wonder if there was someone better. He will deserve better than that.

3. I've changed a lot since high school. That's why I deleted everyone from high school on FB. I don't feel like they know me anymore/I don't think they care and I know I don't.

4. I'm really not that funny.

5. If I could I would wear flannel pajama pants and a plain white v everywhere.

6. I was struck by lightning through a microwave once. Don't worry, I survived.

7. I've actually done some cool stuff in my life (competitions, elections, etc). But I feel like now that I'm in college none of it matters anymore.

8. I want to be a motivational speaker, but I'm not counting on that actually ever happening.

9. I brush my teeth in the shower, but I don't pee in there. That's weird.

I wish I had found this 10 days ago...

So I thought I was following my friend Janae's blog but apparently I wasn't.. This was brought to my attention and immediately rectified and I found this blog thing that I stole from her........... So I'm going to do it. At first I was like, man that's so egotistical thinking that people want to know these things about me. And then I thought... I have a blog, of course it's egotistical. Without further ado:

The Blog thing that I prefaced too much because it's really not that exciting but it will give me something to do:
Day One: Ten things you want to say to ten different people right now.

Day Two: Nine things about yourself.

Day Three: Eight ways to win your heart.

Day Four: Seven things that cross your mind a lot.

Day Five: Six things you wish you’d never done.

Day Six: Five people who mean a lot to you.

Day Seven: Four turn offs.

Day Eight: Three turn ons.

Day Nine: Two smileys that describe your life right now.

Day Ten: One confession.

Day ONE!!

1. I don't regret it but I am so so so sorry to have hurt you. (I also hope you read this and know its about you.)

2. Thank you for getting me through that hellish year. You were heaven sent.

3. I still don't understand what problem you had with me, but I'm cool with you now... Mostly.

4. You probably shouldn't have done that, but I hope it turns out for the best.

5. You're beautiful and don't need to worry about the future so much.

6. I love you and want you to stop questioning it and trust me.

7. I miss you.

8. Your mass texts don't make me feel better, they make me feel used.

9. I'm not that funny.

10. You made my day.

Phew. Done with that. Tomorrow will be fun.

On the hunt

I need a job!

So I went on craigslist and this nifty site Wildcat JobLink and applied to everything that looked like fun.
Most notably:
- A museum guard
- An actress in a commercial
- A cashier at a restuarant
- A LOT of student aide positions
- A company called Mad Science that gives presentations to children grades K-8 about SCIENCE!!!!
This company called me and we had a phone interview, but halfway through their phone died. So I'm waiting to hear back from them. I really like the idea of this job. I worry I mussed up the interview by speaking too much though. I get nervous on the phone with people. I sound like I'm 12 over phone lines. But seriously, this job would be SOOOO fun and SOOO perfect. I want.

I met some new people. Some of Sean's friends and also some of Victoria's friends. They all seem very nice. I hope I get to know them better.

Zac and I ate dinner together the other night (I made pasta and garlic bread, he made salad and brought cookies). It was so fun. I love this man(boy)(guy). Afterward we chatted and went and played volleyball with some young singles. We aren't very good. But both of us got some pretty decent ups and Zac had some great saves. Then we went to the other house (that is how I refer to my other friends' house. Because there are too many of them to just choose one for the house to be labeled in her name only). And it was great seeing my dear sweet friends.

I went to lunch with my old roommate (Brittany, not the old old roommate) and her boyfriend. He is very nice and they make a cute couple. I'm excited for her to get back in town tomorrow.

I went to some volunteer training for this Focus on Success program. It's for the scholarship program I am in and I figured since they're paying for my school the least I could do is help some newbie freshmen get oriented with the program. Plus I got a free tshirt and free lunch. I timed myself walking from my apartment to the student union. It only took 11 minutes. And I was walking slow. AND on the way there these two guys stopped me and at first I was like "Oh, they're going to preach" but then they just asked if I wanted to play soccer with them. I was flattered. Not only did I not know them and they took their time to introduce themselves to me and invite me to play soccer with them. But they also assumed I could play soccer. So I guess I'm sending out that sporty casual vibe. Which is cool.

I'm going to the temple tomorrow (after volunteering of course) and then Brittany should be home and my friend Isaac is moving down here and so hopefully we'll have some crazy good times.

Well, great news, Mad Science just called me again and he is going to call my references now. So fingers crossed, let's see if there are enough nice things people can say about me.

The Pinky Touch

Jenkin's dating advice:

You can see why we broke up.
Nothing to do with the fact that he went on a mission.
Okay it had everything to do with the fact that he went on a mission.

I do miss this kid.
And Kira too.

Happy Birthday Ezra Bean

This weekend was my cousin's first birthday party.
I wasn't going to go, but then my roommate Amy's boyfriend's car got totalled and they were planning on going to Gilbert before... She was pretty distraught and illogical about not being able to go (we're talking saying she would just buy a car illogical) so I decided to drive down and take them with me.
Due to some unfortunate planning and lack of communication I couldn't make it to Ezra's first birthday. But he was so partied out that I doubt he'll remember. Those infants know whats up.

Instead I spent more time than originally planned at Amy's house. Her family was very welcoming and fun.
LunaBug didn't like her youngest brother, Daniel, very much. Anytime he moved anywhere Luna would bark and growl. When Amy's other brother, Aaron, got home her family was telling him to pet Luna (who was on my lap on the couch). They were saying things like "She's a good judge of character. She growls but won't bite. She barks at Daniel." as he walked over. When he got to the couch I extended my hand and said "Hello, I'm Luna."

Wait for it..

Ha. Ha. But he had already met Luna so my wit was wasted. Woe.

Amy, Sean (her boyfriend), and I went and saw the construction site of the Gilbert Temple. Those were the holiest elevator shafts I've ever seen. As I was looking at those elevator shafts I was reminded of the primary song... Only joking. The construction site was rather anticlimactic.

In other news, Chloe moved in on Friday! She's great. My room is no longer half empty. She brought a muffin from Mostly Muffins (because she too is from Yuma). Let's just say if that keeps up I already know who my favorite roommate will be...

Also on Friday I went to a party. It was really fun. They had a bouncer... That's when you know its legit. My friend Victoria and her cousin and a few other people planned it. It was in a house that overlooked the city lights. And they had a sweet dj with laserlights and fog and whatnot. I partied it up.

Anyway, I have to go get ready to go to church with my family. :)

Boise, cont'd

Well Boise was cool. I just did a lot of stuff with Wade and often Rachael and Tiffany and other neat people.

Wade, Rachael, and I went to the Boise Zoo.

We were looking at the bats and I scooted closer to the glass wall to get a better look at one of the smaller creatures. I was imagining the different places it could bite me when I felt something brush up against my leg. I freaked out and jumped back approx 7.5 feet. Not that far really, but in stories it is good to exaggerate. Anyway, turns out there was some braided straw that touched my leg, not a bloodthirsty bat. So I was fine.

We also saw the butterfly garden. That was cool except the butterflies liked landing on me and I don't like having bugs on me. But they were really pretty. I was trying to get a picture of one of them, that sneaky little thing flew off every time I pushed the button on my camera. It took 4 shots to get one with the butterfly actually in the picture. It was somewhat of a tease.

Then we were looking at the penguins. I moved to the other side of the room than Rachael and Wade to get a better vantage point and when I turned to the side..........
JENKIN WILLIAMS was standing right next to me.
I panicked and tried to hide in the corner, but it didn't work I guess. So I shook his hand and we had an awkward goodbye.
It was like when you see someone in the grocery store and chat for a bit and then say "Well I'll see you on Sunday!" and then run into each other shopping in the produce section like a minute later.
Or when you're walking with someone to your respective classes and you say "okay I'll see you after!" and then they walk into the same building as you.

Good times.

This penguin saw it all.

I saw Kira the next day (on purpose this time) and she gave me a letter from Jenkin. It was good to hear from him. I do miss being able to ask his opinion and hear his thoughts on things. He had some good insights, and even if they weren't intelligent they were at least funny. But they usually were both.

Now I'm back in TUCSON!!!!!!!! with LunaBug and Amy and Kirstin. Those are my roommates. Also Bert's sister Chloe but she has yet to move in. Our apartment is darling. It's two story (first time living in a house with stairs) and it has a yard and a washer/dryer! The first night I was here I did some laundry and the dryer never shut off. So my clothes dried for 10 hours on high heat.

I went to a dance on Friday night also. It was fun, but there was a social emergency that made it imperative for me to leave early. I went grocery shopping. That was cool too.

On Sunday I went to 3rd ward and 5th ward. I love 5th ward. I don't have anything against 3rd of course, but 5th just feels right for me.

Also, in July I read a lot. 6 books and I'm working on a 7th. I suggest them.
They are:
Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr.
Hunger Games.
The Host.
Book by my aunt that isn't yet published.
And now I'm reading a mormon book but I can't remember the title and I'm too lazy to walk upstairs to figure it out.

So that's my life for now.
We got internet today.
I danced with happiness.
Jesus installed it.
Jesus from Cox.
I made some sacrilegious jokes when he knocked on the door.

BOISE!

The movies this year have been fantastic. I haven't been disappointed with any of them. Good summer.

Two weeks ago I went to Disneyland with Aaron, Taryn, Melanie, and my mom. That was SOOO fun. We went for almost 5 days I think and it was super nice to not feel rushed to ride a ride on a particular day. We watched a parade and Fantasmic and just relaxed. It was way fun. Good memories.

On the way back home from Disneyland my family dropped me off in Yuma so I could spend some more time with Jenkin (also, he had my car and my dog). It was a good last week. We celebrated his birthday by going to Famous Dave's with his family and we saw the midnight premiere of Captain America. We also waxed our mustaches and my underarms (that was a painful mistake). Then his family came on Saturday and I got to meet some of his cousins and extended family. Zac and Amy also came on Saturday and it was pretty sweet hanging out with them. Jenkin had his farewell party and his mom made Guatemalan food-- soooo good. She made these empanada things that were delicious. Bert and Chloe came to the party also. They're funny people, I'm excited to room with Chloe. Jenkin's farewell was quite tender. Mariah (his younger sister) spoke, as did his dad and of course he did. Also Kira, Jenkin, and their friend Ami sang a song. So precious.
Then on Monday/ Tuesday morning I said goodbye :( it was super sad and I miss him.

Then on Tuesday afternoon I flew to BOISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh gosh, I can't emphasize how much I love this place. I floated the river on Wednesday with Wade and a group of his friends. Then we ate at Joe's Crab Shack (I actually tried a piece of crab meat... It was nothing like what I expected.). I said goodbye to Jenkin again via cellphone because he got set apart Wednesday night. Then we got frozen yogurt and walked around downtown. Two of Wade's friends, Kyle and Chris, acted out a scene from the Producers randomly downtown. It's so funny hanging out with theater majors...

On Thursday I went to Starbuck's with Wade to meet his coworkers. Then he and Rachael and I went and ate at a greek place, I got falafel and pita and I love pita and falafel so I was pleased. Then I went to their show- the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. They did a great job. It was very funny. I was one of the volunteers that went up on stage, I felt so awkward so I spelled a word wrong and got to sit down. It was super fun to watch and I really enjoy the show. The music is quite catchy. Afterwards I went with some of the cast to another frozen yogurt place and played Scrabble. I don't like board games very much.... But the froyo was good. My problem with self serve frozen yogurt places is that I can never make up my mind what I want. Chocolate or cheesecake? Fruity or peanut butter? Cookie dough? Cheesecake? I always end up getting the mini gummy bears because they're just so tiny I can't help it.

Today I think we are going to see X-Men in the dollar theater and then I'll watch the show again. Whee.

I love Boise. It's so green here. And lovely.
