Lessons from DAYGLOW

1. Always have a plan in case you get separated from your group. Last night, prayer worked. But it would have been good to be prepared beforehand.

2. If a guy asks if you want to dance, say no. He doesn't mean dance. He means doyoufrombehindwithclotheson.

3. If you are pushed forward in the crowd, hold on to your group members. Also, don't fight it.

4. When the group starts jumping, jump with them or your toes will be annihilated.

5. Don't tell anyone where you live. Especially if, when you ask them for the time, they reply "Time to give me sex."

6. "Rolling" = on ecstasy. Not rolling in the dough.

7. Close your mouth and eyes when the paint starts flying.

8. While walking out of the crowd, protect your virtue. Front AND back.

DAYGLOW was so much fun and I can't wait for it to come back to Tucson. Fantastic night full of fantastic people. I went with Chloe and Sarah. Afterwards we went to IHOP with Roland, Blaine, and Nick.

I also got a letter from Guatemala yesterday!! :) :) :) yesterday was almost perfect. I cleaned the bathroom and my room, got an amazing letter, went to an amazing dance party, hung out with amazing friends.

I feel so blessed to have met and become friends with the people in my life. They are top notch.

DAYGLOW

I still don't know which letters to capitalize.
It is tonight, damas y caballeros! I cannot wait! :)

The results of my midterms are in. One B and the rest As (I even got 100% on one of them). :D whee! Celebration!

This week was crazy. Last week was crazy. I'm ready for my life to settle back down. I'm afraid that this is the new norm rather than an exception to my usually happy life.

So. Much. Stress.

I can't even pinpoint exactly what the stress is.

I am doing an after school program for Mad Science on Fridays again. This time at Cottonwood Elementary. I've only had one class but it went great!! A parent asked to sit in (which made me SO nervous) and she did the activities with us and seemed to enjoy herself. The kids were fantastic, they got very into it and kept sitting. It was a breath of fresh air after my last ASP.

I went camping last weekend with my ward. It was enjoyable. The mountains are beautiful! It got cold, that was a surprisingly refreshing feeling after being in the desert and trying to not use the AC for two months.

I also went home last weekend. It was so great. I needed time away from Tucson. I got to see my family and also hung out with Blaine, Roland, Wes, and Denise. Chloe came with me and I was happy to get to spend more time with her. She's great. I'm lucky to have her as a roommate.

My little Taryn is 17 now. Holy crap, right? She's so beautiful and so so so so incredibly talented. Seriously, this girl has got it going on. Hand her ANYTHING and she'll know what to do with it. She's working, doing cross country, and going to school this semester. I don't know how she does it. She's strong. I admire her for it.

I got a letter from Jenkin today. It took 10 days to get here from his area. He's doing great. His emails (he's allowed to email now! :D) and this last letter actually sound like him again. It's fantastic. I was so so happy. His area is really humid and apparently all of his envelopes sealed themselves so the one I got was a piece of work. Haha. It was very taped up and he had written all over the front of the envelope. I'm thrilled though.

The Halloween dance was last night. I am a little sick but went anyway. It was so much fun. I dressed up in all sorts of nonsense and when people asked what I was I would reply "Anything you want me to be baby ;)" some people thought it was funny. Some didn't.

Camp fire games! Don't ask.

Okay so maybe the cold wasn't so great. But these people are!

My costume consisted of: leggins, long socks, a tail, superman shirt, lightning bolt scar, cowboy hat, Hawaiian necklace, princess gloves, handcuffs, fairy wings, knight breastplate, and old school glasses.

This is a collage of the letter from Jenkin. :) He's just great.

Well I am going to go buy shorts for DAYGLOW and meet Chloe's grandma and great aunt. Woooh.

God bless,

They're over

For now. I am done with midterms for the 2011 Fall semester. I cannot say how happy I am about that.

And I came out looking pretty good.

I have an A in my Spanish class, which is a miracle almost as grand as when Moses parted the Red Sea (el Mar Rojo?). I'm LOVING it. I think I would cut off an appendage if it would make me fluently bilingual (in English and Spanish or Italian). I am going to apply to a study abroad program in Costa Rica. Also, I think I might minor in Spanish. We'll see how Spanish 201 goes next semester :/

My roommates found a cockroach in my room. Then lost the cockroach in my room. Boooo. I had a rough night sleeping, let me tell you. Also, I decided to put tin foil over the windows in my room because it gets as hot as Satan's underwear in my room during the day. However, when it got windy last night the tin foil rattled unnecessarily and made it nigh near impossible to sleep in (especially with the looming danger of a cockroach running across my face at any moment).

This morning my dear, sweet, little LunaBug got her back paw stuck up by her ear while she was under my bed. Thankfully Chloe, like the beast that she is, just picked up my bed frame like it was nothing so I could scoop Luna out from under the bed. It was a heroic rescue and Chloe deserves the highest commendations for it.

Last week we went to a Panic! At the Disco concert. Foxy Shazam and Patrick Stump also played. That concert was killing. Let me tell you. It was great.

Today I purchased a ticket for DAYGLOW. I don't know which letters are supposed to be capitalized in that compound word so I just capitalized the entire thing. It is a dance music/techno concert in which neon paint is thrown all around. I can't wait! I am going with Chloe, Sarah Villela, and maybe Jenny/William. It will be great.

Monday was one of the best days of the semester thus far in the way of missionary-communication. I got an email from dear Jenkin (he's doing great), an email from Kalee (she mentioned me in it), an email from Ali (who I just sent a letter to, so no guilt there), and a letter from Zac (I love him). I may have also gotten an email from Monte (my awesome cousin whom I love and miss).

Well it is 10:00 pm and ever since I started this crazy schedule of two jobs, volunteer work, and school I have turned into an old woman and seriously suffer if I don't go to sleep before 11. So off I go.

Wishing the best for you and yours... Whoever you are.

I just hate midterms.

That is all there is to it. Because with finals at least you can be excited that the class is over. With midterms all you feel is dread that you are only halfway through and you need will still need to remember all of the information you are being tested on.

So if anyone knows of a rich, older man who wants to marry a college dropout- let me know. I will soon be available.
